Stolen charity trailer found thanks to social media

MCDONOUGH, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) – A storage trailer used for charity work is back in the right hands after it was reportedly stolen in McDonough.

The owner says his community and social media was able to solve the case in about an hour.

Trailer owner Thomas Boswell of Advanced Services says he arrived to his business Saturday to find the trailer had disappeared.

After calling police, Boswell turned to social media with a plea for help.

"It went from 10 likes, 20, 50, 100, 200," he said. "It was pretty cool to see the community backing us like they were, and then I got a lead."

That lead took Boswell and Henry County authorities to a nearby apartment complex, where he says he found his trailer.

Boswell says he was impressed by the immediate support of his neighbors.

By the time the trailer was found, the Facebook post had been shared nearly 600 times by friends and strangers.
