Moultrie native competing for Miss Georgia USA

McKenna Fletcher, 23, formerly of Moultrie, is one of 47 young women competing this week in the Miss Georgia USA pageant.

MCDONOUGH, Ga. — McKenna Fletcher, 23, of Moultrie will compete for the title of Miss Georgia USA 2019 on Nov. 15-17 at the Henry County Performing Arts Theatre in McDonough, Ga.

The finale and crowning of the new Miss Georgia USA will be on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 8 p.m. You can watch the preliminaries on Friday night and the finale on Saturday night from your computer or smartphone at www.pageantslive.com for a small fee.

Fletcher is in the running for People’s Choice Queen as well. You can vote for her by paying $1 per vote at http://www.missgeorgiausa.com/gausa2019/index.html. A portion of the funds raised from the voting goes to Atlanta Motor Speedway Children’s Charity.

Fletcher is the daughter of Alisha and Wendell Story and Brant and Kathy Fletcher. She is the granddaughter of Frances Bullard and the late Raymond (Buddy) Bullard (Moultrie); Larry Fletcher (Dublin, Texas); Tony Reese (Murfeesboro, Tenn.); and Larry Story and the late Sue Story (Lafayette, Ga).

Fletcher graduated from Colquitt County High School in 2013 and then she attended Valdosta State University for three years before pursuing a management career with a local seafood restaurant in Valdosta.

She enjoys restoring old furniture and hanging out with dogs and cats at the local shelters — along with volunteering her time to transport dogs for rescue organizations in Georgia and Florida

Her sponsors for the pageant include: her parents and grandmother, Frances Bullard; Sheryl Gaskins of Valdosta; her aunt, Tami Story of Lafayette, Ga.; Fidelity National Title Insurance of Georgia; Landtech Data Corporation; and also, many of her customers from the Salty Snapper and friends.

The 2019 Miss Georgia USA Pageant will feature 47 young women from age 17 to 24, all vying for the title of Miss Georgia USA 2019. The winner will represent Georgia in the 2019 Miss USA pageant, which will be seen live on television.

The Miss Georgia Teen USA and Miss Georgia USA pageants are the official preliminaries to the Miss Teen USA, Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants and are a WME/IMG venture.
